MicroSim

This add-on module is a supplement to the rolling contacts as well as journal and thrust bearings basic modules and allows the consideration of micro-hydrodynamics and mixed friction. MicroSim calculates flow factors and contact pressure curves for measured rough surfaces. Flow factors describe the influence of microhydrodynamic effects by the surface roughness on the load-bearing capacity of the lubricating film and contact pressure curves the additional load-bearing effect due to roughness-related solid state contacts in mixed friction.
