Tribo-X - Tribo Technologies GmbH

Tribo-X is a Thermal Elastohydrodynamics (TEHD) simulation software that allows the calculation of the stress, friction and temperature of lubricated systems. With Tribo-X a "numerical magnifying glass" is available, which allows a view into the frictional contact and thus contributes to a better understanding of the processes taking place there. Tribo-X can be used to optimize the friction and wear of lubricated systems to increase product efficiency and shorten product development cycles.

Basic Modules

Rolling Contacts

This basic module is used to simulate rolling contacts, such as these e.g. in rolling bearings, gears, cam/follower pairings or wet-running friction gears are present.

Journal Bearings

This basic module is used to simulate hydrodynamic journal bearings as they are in motors, pumps, compressors or gearboxes.

Thrust Bearings

This basic module is used to simulate hydrodynamic thrust bearings as they are in motors, pumps, compressors or gearboxes.

Piston/Cylinder

This basic module is used to simulate piston / cylinder pairings as they are in radial and axial piston pumps.

Cylindrical Gears

This add-on module is a supplement to the rolling contacts base module and is used for the transient simulation of the engagement of cylindrical gears along the entire line of action.

Bevel Gears

This add-on module is a supplement to the rolling contacts base module and is used for the transient simulation of bevel gears along the entire line of action.

Cam Contacts

This add-on module is a supplement to the rolling contacts base module and is used for the transient simulation of cam / cam follower contacts for a complete work cycle.

MicroSim

This add-on module is a supplement to the base modules rolling contacts as well as journal and thrust bearings and allows the consideration of micro-hydrodynamics and mixed friction.

Stress

This add-on module is a supplement to the Rolling Contacts, Cylindrical Gears, Bevel Gears, Cam Contacts and MicroSim modules. It allows the calculation of stresses below the surface.

Developer Mode

This add-on module allows Tribo-X modules to be linked with other software or to perform automated batch processing. The control of Tribo-X is done via a file interface.
